“Vampyre.” Casting Breakdown

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As part of the horror podcast storytelling project, Sommer Camp is now casting voice-over actors for a story about a 1930s southern Blues band summoned by a strange letter to perform at a bar atop an Oregon mountain. 

LOCATION: Virtual; podcast form 

SHOOT DATES: November 2024; Two dates (unselected) 

PAY: The voice-over actor will receive a stipend with a recording date (TBD) before rehearsal(s). Agency fees will be paid separately, if applicable. This podcast is a Non-union production. All cast and crew will receive a stipend.

Character Descriptions:

TOMASINA (V.O. only)- African American female, mid-thirties, a famous lounge singer exhausted by the spotlight and desperately seeking to give up life on the road for a quiet life. 

KINKADE (V.O. only) - African American male in his late teens, pubescent and anxiety-ridden pianist looking to make a name for himself and create space between himself and his overbearing preacher father.    

HANNIBAL (V.O. only): African American male in his late 40s, a drunkard and trumpeter who travels and performs to escape his traditional lifestyle with fast money and the rockstar lifestyle.  

HARVEY (V.O. only)- African American male, mid-30s, drummer, smooth-talker looking to use his good looks and charm to win over Tomasina. 

COUNT NIKOLAI (V.O. only) - Black male, age unknown, a reclusive hematologist looking to cure vampirism. 

CONSTANTINE (V.O. only): A Caucasian American bar owner who is skeptical and convinced the new arrivals are in grave danger. 

NARRATOR (V.O. only): An African American male, age unknown, is a well-respected radio host excited to tell a horror tale on Halloween night.
